Nice interior, food was inexpensive & yummy. Try their coffee and Pan de Bono (one best ones I've had) for breakfast. Staff is friendly and liked that they open at 8am. Wasn't hard to find despite it looking small outside there's definitely enough space inside. I also liked the homey feel and accessories around the place. I gave one my superiors from work some appetizers and they loved it! I would recommend this to people around the area.

Randomly decided to try this place out. I was a little worried because it was empty when we walked in but to my to my surprise this place was very nice. The place was super clean and nice décor. It is cozy and small but they have plenty of tables and booth. We were immediately greeted and seated. The staff was very nice and friendly. They were very attentive and kept asking if we needed anything. I always tend to order the same thing at Colombian restaurants. The Bandeja Paisa is my favorite and the Colombian empanadas. I always put Colombian places to the test when I order the bandeja paisa because I love the one from Latinos on Hillsboro. The one from El Atico was very good. The only thing I noticed is that they use pinto beans instead of the red beans and they did not put the slices of avocado. However, they do include a sausage and arepa. The sausage was tasty. I also ordered a jugo the mango con leche. It was delicious!! My favorite. The Colombian empanadas were a little hard but they were very flavorful. Slowly the place started to fill up. Definitely a place to check out if you are craving Colombian food.

I'm a lover for Latin food and this place didn't disappoint. The place itself is very cozy and the food tastes like home made. Definitely coming back!

Amazing food!! In a quiet plaza with a very plain storefront. But don't be fooled by the exterior. This place is a hidden gem. Authentically decorated with imported beverages and candy. Two flat panel screens playing sports and news. Friendly attentive staff who speak both English and Spanish. The food was delicious. Treat yo'self to a lulo fruit with milk smoothie. Will be back for sure!! :)

This place is cute and conveniently located. We ordered the sopa de Cola (oxtail soup) a Colombian specialty perfect for a hangover! We also ordered the bandeja paisa, which was served in a huge plate, it had a ladle and a half of red beans, rice, meat, chicharon, there wasn't any chorizo (maybe they were out), and sweet plantains, plus the arepa. I wish I was hungrier so I could've ordered a jugo de maracuya, and empanadas. Can't wait to be back!

Have the empanadas!

I've been looking for Colombian food that would remind me of home and this place is it. Plus the service is great very friendly and welcoming, they also gave my baby girl complementary ice cream. Totally coming back here, home away from home. Food was so good that forgot to take pictures lol next time.

Saw the great reviews, and this place is VERY close to our house. Went on a Tuesday night and it was late, so there weren't many people there. Then, people started filing in, even though it was close to closing time. The reason? This place is definitely good. Not being from Colombia, I don't know what "authentic" Colombian food is supposed to taste like- but the other patrons clearly do. They spoke to what appears to be the husband and wife team in Spanish. I ordered the Churrasco Steak, and my wife ordered one of the chef specials- which was essentially a Colombian version of Surf and Turf. Both came with a small salad, rice, and fries. It was a lot of food. And, it was GOOD food. The steaks were good sized. Mine was on the hot iron plate that it was cooked in, with a plank of wood underneath it. For dessert, we had a tres leches, which was excellent. Overall, it was good quality food, at a good value. I would certainly recommend it.

Pleasantly surprised. The service is great and the food is excellent. The seating is limited but they offer takeout in case there are no tables available. There are renovations going on in that plaza so it could deter you but once you step inside you realize how quaint and authentic the place is. Even though it was packed we were lucky enough to get the last table. A little bit of a squeeze but I'm glad we stayed and enjoyed the experience. The menu has so many options to chose from so you won't be disappointed. Our server was very attentive and so was everyone else. We got checked on multiple times by the staff. They made sure we had everything we needed and that we were happy with the meal. I had the Sancocho de Cola (ox tail soup) which comes with white rice, plantains, and a fresh salad. We also got the chuleta caleña (breaded cutlet) it was a large portion enough for two people. It also comes with a side of white rice, plantains, and a fresh salad. They have great options for the kids too. So if you have a picky eater like I do I recommend the home made chicken nuggets with fries. The have flat screen tv's with futbol games. There's also a little bar area where you can enjoy a beer or a coffee. The prices are reasonable too. For the amount of food we got, beers, and still had leftovers to take home we spent $50 bucks for all 3 of us including tip. I was more than satisfied with the food and service. Other than needing more seating they really exceeded my expectations for a casual restaurant. But that just goes to show that El Atico is really good. If all the tables are taken then order to go because the food is excellent.

Muy delicioso! Very friendly staff, quick service and DELICIOUS food!!! We stopped in quickly for lunch and tried the arepo con queso (sweet corn cake with melted butter and cheese) which was amazing. We also split the fajitas and still had leftovers. Huge portions, extremely yummy, and very affordable. I definitely recommend this place! Tip: don't let the nearby construction throw you off, they're open!

Omg this place is AMAZING ! I had the empanadas, the filling in them were to die for. For my entree I had the bandeja paisa with a mango milk drink SO GOOD. I would def eat here again. The service was great they were very attentive and genuinely cared about the customers.

Amazing food. Great service. Will definitely go back again. went for lunch and had the Bandeja Paisa (with the steak).

Came here with my husband, his mom, and our 9 year old daughter. We all found something to love. It doesn't look like much from the outside (there is construction going on) but it's very cute inside and the food is delicious. I wish I knew how to make even their white rice, which was the best white rice I've ever had. I also had ropa vieja and flan. Most of the entrees were around $10. The owner (I think) was very sweet to our daughter, who was in tears over a family disagreement regarding the dessert. (You know how it goes). Her kindness really helped. We will definitely be back.

Saturday morning we wanted a light breakfast of coffee and baked goodies, so we figured we'd give this local spot a try. I've driven by it a million times so it was nice to finally see what it's all about. Cafe con leche was the bomb and we had the arepas and some sweet cheeses bread things I forgot the name of. It wasn't a large filling breakfast but it was exactly what we were looking for. The others in the restaurant were all Spanish speaking and locals, which in my opinion is a good sign! The waiter spoke in English and Spanish which means I wouldn't be intimidated to go in alone since my Spanish consists of Olá and gracias. I hope to go back soon for lunch and dinner since I'm excited to taste more authentic Latin food!

What a little treasure in the heart of Boynton. This was my second visit, but my special someone and his friends had been a few times, always with much enjoyment. The service is friendly, ambience unpretentious and very pleasant. The food is excellent and appeals to our gastronomical sense of adventure, though there are plenty of choices for those who are looking for more traditional taste treats. My bowl of Sopa mondongo was excellent and provided portions for both of us at another meal. We will be going back as often as we can to sample the many other dishes. Oh, and by the way--wonderful coffee, robust but smooth, freshly made, complete with steaming, foamy top. P.S. Can't wait to try breakfast there. Very interesting and enticing choices.

We were visiting our daughter in Boynton Beach and went to have breakfast at this restaurant, and what a surprise the service excellent, food amazing prices very reasonable, we will come back when In Boynton again. We surely recommended it.

This is the best home made food you can find in Boynton Beach. Good quality, excellent service and fairly priced. Their bandeja paisa and their fried fish are from out of this world.

I found this place last week and been back twice already for their colombian empanadas! The spicy sauce that comes with them is delicious , ive tried the chicken and both the beef empanadas , will def return!

I'm so sorry to say that this place was a bit of a let down..we really had our hopes up based on the reviews. We ordered take out and it was just not fresh at all. Especially the bandeja paiza or sanchocho. The empanadas were just ok, the arepa was cold and flavorless..it's a shame because this place is really cute and has a lot of potential to be something great ,but its just not there. We are foodies and know good food and they don't have it. :-(

While I was looking at the menu outside, a lovely person gave us a menu and invited us in. So I wanted to go easy on this new opening, but while this waitress was great, we had to ask the other one three times for our check while she did things like put buns in a display case, and we felt she was intentionally offensive in other ways. And mainly, we couldn't even eat our chicken a la plancha because it was too hard and dry, and the tuna salad tasted good, but it was a watery, thin mixture spread thinly over a lot of lettuce. We left virtually all of the chicken dish (including sides) because it was inedible and included rice, which we had asked to replace with some other side, but nobody asked how the food was or if there was a problem, and the chicken was on the bill. This is understandable since they are just starting, but this is very poor restauranting. The chicken was cut as thin as seems possible and parallel to the fibers, and though the menu said it was wood grilled, the waitress admitted it was cooked on one of those flat greasy grills, and "finished" on the fire, though there was no sign of that that I could see. It came to the table very greasy and also very hard and fibrous and absolutely without flavor, though the menu said it was marinated. I saw the same dish at another table, and perhaps if you ask for chicken a la plancha prepared not so thin and not so hard (though the guy wasn't cutting his easily, either, and he was big), it might be possible to eat it. I couldn't chew it and didn't want it anyway after tasting it, though I had mopped off much of the grease. We avoid saturated fat like beef, pork, lamb -- and fried and breaded food, so this restaurant had little to offer us. Fish is hard to do well, so we felt confined to the 2 chicken dishes that weren't breaded or fried. We had the chicken a la plancha and the tuna salad, as above, and it wasn't a happy meal. We loved the antique family photos and the flavor of the tuna salad, but the tuna was less than a meal, and there was almost nothing healthy to eat, though the fruit drinks looked promising. I am suspicious of one of the reviews, though.

Excellent Colombian food. Cheap. Clean. Friendly staff. Will be going back.

The decor is straight out of an antique shop. The food is straight out of a dream. Authentic Colombian fair at authentic Colombian prices. I highly recommend the empanadas for a starter and any of the juices that they blend with milk (like guava or mango). Step out of your comfort zone and you won't be disappointed.

This restaurant opened about a week ago. We dined here for lunch on Saturday May 4th. I am American and my girlfriend is originally from Medellin, Colombia. We were missing this type of place of Boynton Beach and I am thrilled that they decided to open El Atico here. We started off with 2 beef empanadas and a chorizo sausage for appetizers. I had the pollo a la plancha (grilled chicken breast) with beans and rice. This entree also included a tasty side salad which was the perfect size. If you are trying to be healthy, this is a great dish. The chicken was not plain or dry at all and was seasoned perfectly. Obviously I was hungry. My girlfriend had the tamale and she said it was delicious. For both entrees, we had enough left over to have a 2nd meal later that night. We shared a tres leches cake for dessert which was incredible. Our total tab before tip was $25 and that was enough for both of us to have a full lunch with leftovers for dinner. The atmosphere is nice and you can tell the owners put some time and care into decorating their restaurant. Without a doubt, this will be a regular stop for us. Excellent place!
